Thankful: Multi-Tasking Bug

9 02 2010

This week’s set of posts come to you from an idea I had Sunday night. Super was looking through the pictures of Bug on Flickr and I thought it would be great to share some of my favorite pictures of her with you this week.

Today I’m thankful for a toddler that is constantly moving, going and doing.  I love this picture because it shows her in the way she typically is at home, playing with several things at once and tough to get a picture of her not moving!

Today I’m thankful for this picture of Bug.  Even though it’s blurry and even though you can see the laundry in the back.  I’m just glad she smiles when looking silly.

Thankful: It Won’t Be Like This for Long

2 02 2010

This week of thankful posts are sharing songs that move me each time I hear them.

I’ve blogged about this before, but this song should be plastered at every new parent’s house.  I’m thankful for this because it makes me pause each time I hear it because it really won’t be like this for long.

The Gospel According to Lost by Chris Seay

28 01 2010

Could your favorite TV show be a Biblical study guide?  Chris Seay of “The Gospel According to Lost” believes this is the case with the TV show “Lost”.  Lost is a TV show that airs on ABC about a group of misfits whose plane wrecked on a mystic island.  “The Gospel According to Lost” that challenges you to see yourself and God’s plan in the characters of the hit TV show.  In the prologue Chris Seay grabs your attention by writing “You may not have been stranded on an island (much less a magical island), but you know what it feels like to be lost.” – WOW!  Yes, we all do know what it feels like to be lost, more personally, I know what that feels like.

This book was an interesting concept and an easy read.  Chris Seay takes each main character, devotes a chapter and explains how their life is an example with Bible quotes.  For example, in chapter about Sayid, the following is written, “No one is beyond redemption.  Not even Sayid.”  The entire book is filled with great nuggets like the one mentioned here.

I found myself wanting to re-watch the episodes mentioned in the book to re-live the experiences and be able to say “Yes, I thought that same exact thing when I saw that episode”, but unfortunately (fortunately for him) Chris Seay is more of a Biblical scholar than I am.

I’d recommend this book to any fan of Lost!

Penguin at the City Museum

We visited the City Museum last weekend in St. Louis.  This is a cool place with lots of crazy stuff, like a stuffed penguin.  Best part a was when leaving I asked Super if he got to see everything he wanted to see and he said “No.  It just didn’t feel complete without Bug.” Today I’m thankful that I not only married a great guy who is an awesome husband, but that I married a great dad.

What are you thankful for today?
